In 2022, West-coast transplant Michael Wilson left a lifetime of good weather and memories behind in pursuit of making affordable insulin for his home state of California. After moving to Virginia, he enjoyed a successful tenure across both quality assurance and manufacturing roles. In 2025, he found new purpose with Tympanogen, bringing 13 years of unique experience forward as the Director of Manufacturing. Tympanogen is Michael’s third start-up in the biotech field, having previously completed roles for both medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing ventures. Michael has extensive experience remediating regulatory issues, including a role as a key leader that successfully cleared a warning letter and OAI status. Michael cites strategic leadership and problem-solving skills as his primary strengths, living by the mantra “Jack of all trades, master of none”. Michael enjoys gardening, throwing darts, spending time with his dog (Ghost), and teaching at the community college in his free time. He holds an MBA and MS in Food Science from Chapman University, as well as a BS in Aquatic Biology from UCSB.
